The vintage photographs show how people shopped in times gone by and what they were able to buy. Many will remember names such as Lipton, A Massey & Sons and Templeton's where groceries were bought before the supermarket days of Tesco and Morrisons. Past fashion favourites such as Hepworth, Graftons and Saxone will also strike a chord. While many of the shops of our childhood have vanished, some have stood the test of time and there are 'before and after' photographs of some of these. Glasgow was famous for its department stores such as Copland & Lye, Pettigrew & Stephens, Forsyths and Lewis's, once Scotland's largest department store.
