Nelson at Sea is the third in Simon Westons successful series of stories for children, charting the adventures of Nelson the carthorse who lives with Mike the milkman at the St Mary Dairy in Pont-y-cary. Life is always an adventure for Nelson and his stable-mates; with two rats called Rhodri and Rhys, a pigeon with no sense of direction, an ex-racehorse named Cardigan, a frog in a bow-tie, and a bunch of rugby-playing ducks (the All-Quacks), chaos and a lot of fun is often just around the corner! In this new escapade, Nelson and his stable-mates are very, very excited; theyve spotted a travel brochure in Mikes kitchen and are convinced that they are all being taken on a holiday! Sadly, as Mike explains, he is indeed going away on a milkmans mini-break, but without them. Undaunted, Nelson and his friends decide to book a holiday of their own, to Tenby! In Tenby, the gang meet their landlady, Mrs Rhonda the view Pugh, and are thrilled with their superb accommodation: one single room, an en-suite stable, two holes in the skirting board, a deluxe pond with a shower and a sea-facing perch! Despite creating their usual mayhem, all ends well for Nelson and his friends when they help Huw and the Tenby lifeboat crew save a beached whale named Llywelyn.
