Described by its creators as an "online battle racing" game, Swypeout mixes card collecting with competitive racing across futuristic environments. This starter pack version includes online access to the Swypeout community, a USB card reader called the "Swypetech Scanner," five digital cards, the game on CD-ROM, and an instruction manual. The randomly packaged cards include a mix of cars, weapons, modifications, defense upgrades, and combos. Scanning in each card allows players to use the corresponding vehicle or item in online competition and tournaments. <br><br>The 3D races take place across multiple tracks in three distinct regions: Nitro Heights, Volcano Run, and Baja Blast. Up to six racers can compete in a single event. Before challenging rival drivers and entering tournaments, players must first prove their mettle by completing five training lessons. Finishing the tutorial will give players a license, a car, and 500 credits to spend on upgrades. Additional cards are sold separately in six-card booster packs, with certain cards more rare than others. A total of 72 cards were introduced in the "Swypeout Series 1.1 Card Collection."
