No threading, no hole to use a lag bolt or hanger bolts. It's impossible with normal and readily available hardware to securely attach the telescope to a rod. You would need to have a machine shop to fabricate metal parts. BEWARE of all of the sellers of these handle only telescope/compass ends, i checked after this one arrived, and many use the exact same pics
