The starter was packaged nicely in a small baggie- it's dehydrated, which I love, because I wasn't required to begin the bread making process immediately- and came with very detailed instructions as well as a neat little story about the breads origins. Starter shipped from New York which surprised and disappointed since I live on the west coast but they shipped it immediately so it still got here quick.
