The white envelope was too large for the birthday card, adding to the lack of quality and appearance. This isn’t the standard we aim for. It sounds like you received a mis-scored fold and the wrong envelope size, which shouldn’t have happened. We use 300gsm premium card with machine-scored creases and correctly sized envelopes, and we’ve reinforced our packing checks to prevent this.
