I love what Jim Burke has done to make the Standards less threatening and more useful for teachers. In particular, the indicators for what students and teachers should be doing, given the Standard, are extremely helpful; as are such a clear glossary and illuminating examples. However, it had a lot of information from the bible. From the title I had expected something more scientific like speculation on how the earth will end, or a novel on how the earth did end. A friend saw it and thought it was something she would enjoy reading, so I gave it to her. All was not lost.
