Reviews
Essential topics are covered - It is simple and easy for the students to read and understand - It provides a very good review of the basic background concepts that the trades and technical students are mostly needed - Colors are used for illustrations and pictures which enhances its readability - Generous with practice exercises which include both basic and applications in different areas., I like the layout of the textbook. I think it is very user-friendly for students. The examples are clearly worked out, the exercises are representative of the examples, and I like the different applications given in the exercise problems., As a technical mathematics instructor, I have enjoyed using [this text] for the past many years. I find the text is a nearly perfect fit to my own teaching style, especially for hands-on students pursuing associate degrees and certifications in the technical fields. I also find the text effectively supports student understanding and learning. In the text, each mathematical concept is succinctly and adequately presented in basic terms making it readily understandable by students in the technical fields. Then, several examples are provided with step-by-step solutions to illustrate the use of each mathematical concept. Finally, a large number of exercises are provided to assist in developing student understanding and proficiency. I believe that most technical students find this approach to learning to be very effective.
