I grew up in a fundamentalist tradition and and know how my tradition distorted the text of the scriptures. Ernst Kaseman and Beverly Roberts Gaventa are examples in the apocalyptic tradition. They have spent their whole life studying the text. These text origionally came out ot jewish apocalyptic tradition and was converted into greek modes of thought.
