It doesn't look like real leather, it looks more like a vinal material. The material is towards the thin side, so I am not sure how durable it will be long term. I think it would work for a light gym bag, a carry-on bag or a overnight bag. I wouldn't use it as a check on bag or anything heavy like school books. I personally wouldn't order this bag again. If you want a inexpensive light-weight bag, this may work for you
