My car has some kind of bed liner material on the stock skirts so that could be why it isn’t working but it is what it is. I cut into the side skirts as well to make it fit. I have a 22 VW Jetta SEL. Not sure if all SELs have that side skirt situation, but just be careful to not make the same mistake as I did.
