Synopsis
Who says you have to be a professional--"or consult one--"to consistently earn money in the stock market? Of course, the professionals who want your business do. But in his book, "One up on Wall Street, Peter Lynch, the consummate professional, proclaimed, "Any normal person using the customary three percent of (his or her) brain can pick stocks just as well, if not better, than the average Wall Street expert." Ellis Traub, the author of Take Stock, tells you exactly how a "normal person"--"anyone, regardless of education or financial experience--"can do it...and do it easily. A college dropout and a retired airline pilot, he lost nearly everything in the stock market when he first started. As a result, he was scared away from it during his most productive years. After stumbling upon the National Association of Investors Corporation (NAIC), a non-profit, investment-educational institution, and learning then teaching its methodology, he turned his financial life around and has devoted his life to helping others avoid the misery he went through. Take Stock is as important for what it says you "don't have to know as for teaching you what you "should. Building on the simple concept taught by NAIC, Mr. Traub strips away the intimidating jargon the pros use to make themselves seem more knowledgeable. Cutting the required financial vocabulary to only ten simple terms, Traub shows you, in a breezy and good-natured style, how to apply those terms to learn the only two things you need to know about an investment: if the company is good enough to buy, and, if so, the right price to pay for its stock., Who says you have to be a professional, or consult one, to consistently earn money in the stock market? The professionals who want your business, of course! Ellis Traub, author of Take Stock, tells you exactly how a "normal person" like you-anyone, regardless of education or financial experience-can do it...and do it easily. After stumbling on the National Association of Investors Corporation (NAIC), a non-profit, investment-educational institution, and learning-then teaching-its methodology, he was able to turn his financial life around and has devoted his life to helping others. Not long after he became involved with NAIC, he introduced a software program, Take $tock, to implement NAIC's methods. Soon, that organization commissioned him to develop its own official software product, the NAIC Investor's Toolkit. Now in its fifth version, it is used by more than 50,000 members, adding 20 to 30 new users daily. This book is as important for what it says you don't have to know as for teaching you what you should. Building on the simple concepts taught by NAIC, Mr. Traub shows you, in a breezy and good-natured style, how to learn the only two things you need to know about an investment: if the company is a quality o and, if so, the right price to pay for its stock. Unfortunately I received a damaged book, the item and the package both were damaged and it was clearly evident its appearance that it happened during transit. The seller was very understanding and gave me a full refund for the damaged book, though it was no fault of their own. Other than the damage, the book was as described, the quality and condition aside from the damaged spot was like new. The cost of the book was reasonable. I would definitely purchase from the seller again.

I buy books from this seller all the time. The books are extremely affordable. Every once in a while there's an issue but more often than not, the outcome is positive. Packaging is just a thin sleeve with no bubble protection. This leaves the books open to damage in shipping. However, the seller ships for free. Book was actually in better condition than described - a nice surprise & greatly appreciated!! 👍 Thank you very much, seller!! I'll be back with another order!! 😀
