Reviews
From the book reviews: Sergienko and Bukharov s Noise and Vibration in Friction Systems is a well laid-out literature review and introductory text for the study of noise and vibration generated by friction interfaces. It is a very well thought out text which should bring the automotive engineering student up to speed with only a little noise. (Jon W. Mooney, Noise Control Engineering Journal, Vol. 63 (1), January-February, 2015)", From the book reviews: "Sergienko and Bukharov's Noise and Vibration in Friction Systems is a well laid-out literature review and introductory text for the study of noise and vibration generated by friction interfaces. ... Synopsis
Introduction.- Oscillatory Processes and Vibration.- Acoustic Radiation, Sound Waves and Fields.- Methods of Analysis of Noise and Vibration Signals.- Friction-Excited Self-Oscillations.- Noise and Vibration in Nonstationary Friction Processes.- Materials Science Approaches to Abating Noise and Vibration in Nonstationary Friction Processes.- Physiological Aspects of Human Exposure to Noise and Vibration.- Conclusions., The book analyzes the basic problems of oscillation processes and theoretical aspects of noise and vibration in friction systems. It presents generalized information available in literature data and results of the authors in vibroacoustics of friction joints, including car brakes and transmissions. The authors consider the main approaches to abatement of noise and vibration in non-stationary friction processes. Special attention is paid to materials science aspects, in particular to advanced composite materials used to improve the vibroacoustic characteristics of tribopairs The book is intended for researchers and technicians, students and post-graduates specializing in mechanical engineering, maintenance of machines and transport means, production certification, problems of friction and vibroacoustics.

- p***j (602)- Bewertung vom Käufer.Letzter MonatBestätigter KaufThis is a beautifully bound book on quality paper. The plates and illustrations are excellent, and the presentation of the material is top-notch. The introduction was well-written and helpful for understanding the background of the text. Yes, it is expensive, but it is worth the cost and a great addition to anyone's library. If you are interested in the origin and evolution of the Faust legend, this is a required text. I recommend it without reservation.
