In Re-reading Poets, Paul Kameen offers a deep reflection on the importance of poets and poetry to the reader. Through his historical, philosophical, scholarly, and personal commentary on select poems, Kameen reveals how these works have helped him form a personal connection to each individual poet. He relates their profound impact not only on his own life spent reading, teaching, and writing poetry, but also their potential to influence the lives of readers at every level.In an examination of works by William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Walt Whitman, and others, Kameen seeks to sense each authorAEs way of seeing, so that author and reader may meet in a middle ground outside of their own entities where life and art merge in deeply intimate ways. Kameen counters ideologies such as New Criticism and poststructuralism that marginalize the author, and instead focuses on the author as a vital presence in the interpretive process. Images are lovely and so is the book. The cards stick together since the coating is a buttery matt finish and they do not glide easy nor shuffle individually spaced-rather, shuffle in batches of cards clumped together. The inside of the box lid has an off-putting and out of place, raised add-on (with a message on it to make it look 'nice'), but in general this is just in place purely out of necessity to keep the lid straight and prevent it sinking when closed. They could have designed it better.

The artwork is lovely but cardstock is thin. There's a lot of wasted border space which could've been allocated to the titles & images as font style used should've been a size bigger so that we can actually read the Welsh titles better.
The information in the book is very good but it's not in colour & the pictures don't look the best in a faded black & white print & a lot of space has been wasted on the layout of the pages.
Also, the velvet bag did not come with this item as the picture shows.
