I even shook it to try and fill in the open dead spots and tried to move the filling and weights to fill it in, it did not help. I would not recommend this item for blocking anything. It will probably be good for a door stop if its doubled up. This is not the sellers fault, it is the product!

I will try again next year to buy them as they are really fantastic placemats! The seller offered me a refund when I told them I had to have them by Wed 11/26 to offer a refund to me, so that was really wonderful as I live on a very low SS income each month and I have to go out and find something in person to give to them before they return to Europe later on this week. So this had a happy ending for me! 11/2025 :=)
