Claws of the Dragon by JoEllen Heath is derived from the story of a monk, Ti Chan, in a monastery in India, who escaped death during the religious war spreading from India to China. Embarking on a ship, he arrived in Chin Chew - and his mission was to bring the package shoved underneath his robes by an elder monk who was dying from a Mongolian's arrow to the Monastery Wong Tai Chow and guard it with his life, but when he arrived in Chin Chew, he was killed. It was Hung Lee, the antique shop owner who witnessed what happened and whom he left the task to fulfill his mission. What was inside the package? Will Hung Lee follow Ti Chan's instruction? Claws of the Dragon opens the story of the few people who have an important connection with what was inside the package - the ornately carved violet jade, the pear-shaped, greenish blue emerald and the two plum-sized black pearls with gold streaks flashing from within each center like the eyes of a tiger. Many years and generations had passed and new adventures are taking place. Crystal went to San Francisco to see her father's attorney, Lloyd E. Lyndon, who will reveal to her some important secrets her father left for her and an important gift from her mother - the jade inlayed snuff bottle. Now, she will start her quest for the other stones. She needs to find Andrew and Rusty, who each hold part of her legacy. With this quest, Crystal will embark into various adventures that will lead her to find the answers to her many questions and to solve the puzzle of the letter by her mother, which was written in Chinese. Later on, she will discover surprising revelations. Will she be able to find and gather all of the stones? Who is the real heir of the stones? Who will help her obtain her goals? This is a story of man's quest for wealth and immortality that grips man's soul. Getting it shipped took a little long but the seller was very responsive when I messaged and sent me the tracking as soon as it was available. Plus they did a good job packaging it well enough that despite being banged up on the outside my item was completely undamaged.
