The figure is sort of a classic ribbon figure (interlocked grain?) but doesn't follow the grain lines, rather at a slight angle to the grain, like "ropey" Cherry. The wood all has a beautiful surface sheen, chatoyance, and a nice medium contrast in the grain lines. Taptone like Walnut or Hard Maple.

This set has the classic look of Adi, in terms of spacing between annular rings and in the colors of the early and latewood annular ring lines. Cut expertly from split billets for strength and color symmetry between halves (Adi doesn't have visually prominent medullary rays.) Stiff and resonant!
