Synopsis
Los Angeles based Private Investigator, Phillip Hardaway, is with his family in New Jersey celebrating his mother's birthday when his brother-in-law, a writer for the New York Times, who, on the anniversary of Trayvon Martin's murder is deep into a series on unarmed black men killed by police, shows him the latest incident; a popular high school athlete found shot to death in a Brookland, New Jersey park. Phillip is compelled to put thoughts of retirement on hold as he joins veteran Brookland Homicide Detectives Elvin Morrissey and Krista Gray, and Police Chief Rachel Casey, to help solve a murder that has left the citizens of the upper-middle-class South Jersey town stunned and reeling. Along the way, he discovers a startling connection between two incarcerated ex-cops, a Newark mob boss, high-stakes gambling, and an injured young criminal he befriended. There was no way he could have foreseen, however, the unexpected help he got one afternoon when he realized, with razor-sharp clarity, that his life could have ended that day.

Getting it shipped took a little long but the seller was very responsive when I messaged and sent me the tracking as soon as it was available. Plus they did a good job packaging it well enough that despite being banged up on the outside my item was completely undamaged.
