Plugging the lens into the Samyang/Rokinon Lens Station, I noticed that the firmware was already updated the latest available version (v.8 at the time of this comment). Everything about it works great so far (I've only used the lens for a few hours), and the optical quality and functionality of the lens are exactly what I expected from the Rokinon 18mm f/2.8. No complaints, and I'm happy to have such a nice, lightweight, wide-angle lens!
