Advanced graphics combine with retro game play to create a nostalgic experience. This home video game version of the 1980s game show lets you play against your friends and family from the comfort of your couch. During your round of “Press Your Luck: 2010 Edition,” you play games with three other contestants, just like on the TV game show. The goal of “Press Your Luck: 2010 Edition” is to answer trivia questions correctly. These trivia questions are usually about current events or pop culture. If you answer the question correctly, your reward is in the form of spins that have the potential to earn you money and eventually the chance to win the entire game. Winning spins add either cash or merchandise value to your prize total. You use the spins on an 18-space game board that resembles the board that is seen on the TV game show. Unfortunately, if your lit up square on the game board contains a “whammy,” prepare to have your loot stolen by the game’s cartoon character mascot. The board on “Press Your Luck: 2010 Edition” for Wii contains a mixture of prize squares and whammy squares. Should you hit the whammy during your games, your prize total will reset to zero. As you spin, the goal is to have no whammies but only prizes so that your prize total is as high as possible. The Whammy is a red creature with a hilarious, high-pitched voice. Prepare to laugh with your friends and family at the humorous whammy animations. The questions you will receive from “Press Your Luck: 2010 Edition” are difficult enough to give your brain a challenge but not so hard that they leave you mentally drained at the end of the game. You can play this version of “Press Your Luck: 2010 Edition” on both the Nintendo Wii and the Nintendo Wii U. Before you start a game, you also get to personalize your player avatar, including its appearance and clothing.
