This is the third volume in the series that follows the lives of Hermann Simon and Clarissa Lichtbau during the years 1989 to 2000. The couple reunite after 29 years on November 9th, 1989, when they are caught up in the excitement as the Berlin Wall falls. They return to Schabbach where they meet up with his brothers, family and friends. Their lives are intermingled with historic events as they renovate an old ruined mansion to mark the new beginnings of their relationship and the unifying of Germany, the 1990 World Cup championship, the 1992 withdrawal of American troops and renewed links with Russia.
