OUTLANDER succeeds admirably, and partly that's because it follows the bent of both of its creators: It refuses to sit comfortably in any genre., Globe and Mail - The TV version stunned viewers and some critics, including me, and also brought a male audience to the drama., New Yorker - The female perspective is a welcome change. It's sheer pleasure, no guilt allowed., Daily Telegraph UK - It was enormously refreshing to see an epic, gruesome fantasy series told from a female perspective, and Balfe maintained a lovely balance of bewilderment at her situation, rational assessment and defiant competence in dealing with it.
