We'll be featuring Susan Didrichsen on vocals, along with powerhouse male songsters Angel Rissoff and Larry Hendricks, along with Crispin and an all-star band, playing Cracked Ice originals, choice and dusty grooves from the Dictionary of Rock & Soul, and a great night of music for listening and dancing. . . .whew! Conducting an expanded version of Cracked Ice onstage at the the famed Washington DC venue, Crispin composed and/or arranged all music for the show. Featured guest stars include Sean Hayes, Jimmy Kimmel, Jane Lynch, Lily Tomlin, Kristin Chenoweth, John Krasinski, and musical guests Jason Mraz and Loudon Wainwright. Special guest bandmembers include Binky Griptite and Hagar Ben-Ari from Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, and Leon Pendarvis and Shawn Pelton from the Saturday Night Live Band, along with Cracked Ice/'Soul Noir' vocalists Susan Didrichsen and Brent Carter. Incredible clips covering her entire career, hilarious salutes from her friends across the show biz spectrum, and because it's all about Ellen, lots of great music and dancing throughout. -- December, 2012: For the holiday season, Cracked Ice again joins 2011 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Darlene Love to perform on her acclaimed Christmas shows, dates to be posted her soon. -- Early 2013: Last summer, Crispin and the Uptown Horns joined classic rock supergroup the J. Geils Band for a very successful Eest Coast tour, and they'll pick it up again in the New Year with several area dates, including at the Fillmore/Irving Plaza in NYC. Watch this space for specifics. -- Other Cracked Ice band player action: Crispin and George Naha toured in December with newly inducted Rock&Roll Hall of Fame member Darlene Love, including two blazing nights at BB King's in NYC. . . . Crispin also performed on several TV shows over the recent holiday season with iconic singer-songwriter Carole King, including 'The Today Show' and ''Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'. . . . Bobby Harden toured Europe in the fall with Steve Cropper & the original Blues Brothers. . . .Steve Holley toured and recorded a new album with British rock titan Ian Hunter. . . .Susan Didrichsen toured with smooth jazz/funk pioneers Spyro Gyra. . . .more updates as they occur. -- For the third straight year, Cracked Ice bandleader Crispin Cioe was Musical Director for the prestigious-cum-hilarious PBS TV special, 'The Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for Humor', conducting an expanded version of Cracked Ice onstage at the Kennedy Center in front of a packed Washington, DC house.
