Ken Achikian, master goldsmith, began his apprenticeship with a master artist and goldsmith when he was 14 years old. When war broke out, he immigrated to California where he worked as a jeweler for four years before moving to Washington, D.C. to accept a goldsmith position. In 1990 he and his wife, Maral, established Achikian Goldsmiths, Inc. in Vienna, Virginia.
