With $2000 borrowed from his grandmother, Gary Potter opened Dicker and Deal, Inc. for business on June 12, 1973. Mr. Potter rented a small space in the building on S. Cedar St in Lansing. Originally, the entire business was confined to what now is our Audio Department. The rest of the building was leased to various small businesses. The Staff consisted of Gary and three employees. Over the years he took ownership over the entire building, added five related locations, and now employs over sixty employees.Dicker and Deal’s goal is to provide our customers with quality pre-owned merchandise at prices far below retail and to create an atmosphere that invites all people to shop here--even those who would not ordinarily consider buying second hand.We pride ourselves on building trust and long lasting relationships with our customers. We recognize the importance of your time and money and we make every effort to give our customers the best service, merchandise, and loans.
