My love for cards began when I was just 6 years old, snooping around my Aunt Melinda’s childhood bedroom. That’s where I stumbled upon my very first set of cards — including legends like Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris. Of course, I didn’t get to keep them (they were her prized possessions), but from that moment on, I was hooked.
Thanks to my aunt, who took me to local card shops, and my mom, who’d surprise me with wax packs at the grocery store checkout, my collection grew into the thousands — mostly glorious '90s-era cards ;)
I stepped away from the hobby after high school, but eventually, I realized how much I missed it. The thrill of the hunt for that one perfect card, the excitement of a trade, and the conversations with fellow collectors pulled me back in. When I looked through my old collection, I found the corners worn from love and play. Let’s just say I now have a deep appreciation for sharp corners, penny sleeves, and top loaders!
