    Item as pictured, but not hardened. Tip was slightly bent, probably during shipping, but I fixed it. I also changed the handle design a bit because I want to add a hand guard before mounting the handle scales. I also drilled a few more holes in the handle for additional pins. If the metal was hardened you would not be able to do what I have done without doing it on a grinder or using special drill bits for drilling hardened steel. I did it with a file and normal drill bits.
