    This piece was discovered to have a difference in gold quality during inspection. So I ended up refusing the piece.

    After this item arrived back to me, I took it to my jeweler for additional verification and it tested 14K. It only tested as 13.7K under a high-tech laser. This is common in the jewelry trade for antique and vintage hand-crafted pieces, since they are not mass produced and may not be exactly 14K but are close enough. 13K Gold is virtually the same in integrity, color, and quality as 14K, so is an authentic solid gold piece that would test and pass as 14K in most commonly used gold testing kits.
