In Italian, British and French folklore, magpies are believed to have a penchant for picking up shiny items, particularly precious stones or metal objects! Even though more recent science disputes this notion, our Magpie is most happy when he is surrounded by shiny objects like our vintage stones! We spend a lot of time searching through boxes in dusty warehouses to bring these items to you for jewelry making, mosaics, and other arts and crafts activities. The item was packaged so well that it survived the latest rainstorm and even though the envelope was wet, the item was in inside layers of other protection, including a plastic bag inside, and was not damaged at all.
