As a young boy I would follow my grandfather everywhere. He was an antiques dealer back when you had to scour the newspapers daily and create your own list of destinations to find those orphaned items in need of a new home. He would always give me a few dollars and told me to find things that interested me. When he did a show, he would set up a small table just for me, so I could try and sell those treasures I found with him. He was a special man, and he taught me a lot. After he passed in my teenage years, the hunt just wasn't the same and life took me in other directions, but I always remembered that time of my life with great fondness. Now, quite a bit older and with my own grown children, I find myself with the time and passion to try and create some of those same memories with my own grandchildren when they are old enough. Books have always been my first love, but you'll find so much more in my store of items sourced through Estate Sales finds and Storage Unit treasures.
