  Seller shipped 35 y.o. near-mint collectible in nothing but brown paper, no box, nothing, just wrapped it up in paper & sent it, arrived damaged: Sept 29 - Return request is sent. Oct 3 - After no response from seller, had to open a case, eBay initiates the return immediately. Oct 6 - I ship the item back the same way. Oct 7 - Seller messages me, claiming this was his first time hearing of the problem. The seller/buyer/eBay is notified during every step in a case. Refunded.
