Welcome to Over the Counter Hearing Amplifiers.Some of the hearing amplifiers we sell today were sold as hearing aids some years ago.Today the Digital hearing amplifier has the same technology as hearing aids ,with programs, channels and bands .The smart programs use algorithms to create listening modes for different listening situations and control noise.The difference between amplifiers and aids is the amplifier is a pr programmed.The aid is custom programmed.The aid needs a store front an office and an audiologist.Like everything else that you purchase that is custom made for you it will probably fit better, like a suit of clothes.If you can afford custom and you do not need that thousand or two for something else .Then go for it.We do also offer a programming service at a fraction of the cost on a line of programmable aids.
