A butt plug needs a sturdy base that doesn't deform or you can lose the toy inside yourself. I caught it with the base folded flat and about 2 inches further in than I was expecting it to be. After a brief panic and a lot of attempts i managed to fish it out without a trip to urgent care. There is a minimum for safe anal play. A stiff, and sufficiently wide base is part of that.
