  The quality of the StarMaker dvd is poor. The sound quality is very uneven: the dialogue sound at times cannot even be understood. The sound for the musical numbers, however, still remains good & in some places exceptionally clear considering the rest of the film. The film is old, so the picture is dark with some flaws, which is to be expected. But this copy has vertical lines funding thru it in at leat 3 places, which alerts me that this copy probably has a short time before it stops playing.

  For the price, this copy of The Star Maker is fairly poor. The sound is very uneven, sometimes the dialogue so poor, it's not understandable. The sound for the musical numbers is usually good, however. The picture is uneven as well, sometimes with vertical lines running through it.
