  I am a 65 year old female who did it myself! I bought a cheap interior kit to help pry the strips off and even though the instructions said to use an expensive tool, I used tin snips which were sharp and worked great. Went a little longer than the 3.94”, left about 4.5”. I could always cut it down more but didn’t need to. I am not advising anyone to follow my directions just stating what I did. Had trouble getting the snaps off that was holding the original strips. Worth the cost!
