Only the metal case is close be worth this money, like 2-3 mm thick, not sure if is aluminium or a blend but most modern gears I have don't meet this standard. Sound is fine (and for this money a steal), has slam, involving, makes my CDs listenable at last. There are no holes on the case at all (that's visible in the photos anyway, I decided to drill holes as for ventilation. Very well packed (also came with extra plastic holders at the edges), fast handling&shipping.

Being my first tube phono, I can't say how it compares, but it's very musical and pleasing to listen to though slightly less crisp than the Moon 110 that I was using. Hum in my application is barely noticable and only noticed when the unit is idle. Packaged well and shipped fast. Highly recommended.
