I’m Ben, the entrepreneur behind The Railroad Yard & Hubcap Hobbies. I became an enthusiast early on and enjoyed it so much that I decided to make a career out of it. Plus, I wanted to avoid getting a real job. I started out buying and then reselling used equipment from train shows online. I also took consignments from friends in my model railroad club. I later went off to college to study business and graphic design. While in school, I figured out how to design and print my own model decals. After college, I started going all over the US, participating in train shows all the while building up my online business . Today I primarily model New England railroads in G gauge. My favorite aspect of the hobby is custom painting/designing decals. The mission behind The Railroad Yard & Hubcap Hobbies is to keep our beloved hobby going and get more people interested in it.
