I’m an ex Wigan Casino/Rotherham/100 Club/Bradford/Stafford/Peterborough/Hinckley/Morecambe/Leicester/Notts etc attendee.
I managed Hott Waxx Records for Kev Edwards back in the 80’s/90’s before taking it over in 1998 - we looked after many top line DJs for years - it closed like so many in 2008 as the download thing killed vinyl sales for a few years.
I still play most forms of black music and have DJed since the early 80’s, being resident for spell in the Modern Room at Bradford Queens Hall All Nighter, also resident for six years at The Hott Waxx Soul Train at Mr. Smiths in Warrington during the 90s, ten years at The World in Warrington, a good number of long standing bar residencies, a multitude of guest spots at Soul/Modern/House events all around the country, Soul Fraternity, The Drome, Moneypennies etc - I’ve ran my own promotion ON HUBERT STREET since 2002 which plays Soul, Disco, House and beats, our last guest was DJ Spen.
