I tested the N64 with a borrowed game and I was able to play it so no issues with the console there. The 3rd party controller works fine although I haven't played with an original controller in a long time, but it felt right and the buttons seem to work just fine for the borrowed game I had. For $5 it's worth it to get the color changing power led to spice up the console.
