I've been in love with radio and a licensed Ham operator most of my life since the early 1960s. I started out by building all of my equipment from scratch, including my transmitter and receiver. I still love radio and learning new things just as much as when I was a kid.
I was a welder's helper for Sheehan Pipeline, I started my own Radio and TV business that expanded into Marine and two-way. I obtained an FCC 1st class engineering license around 1968 as well as a second class radiotelegraph. I also had RADAR endorsement. I worked on broadcast stations, I was director of engineering for a MATV/CATV group. I helped design and improve existing equipment for CATV and MDS systems, including Oak Industries and Winegard.
Eventually around 1982 I became involved with manufacturing at Prime Instruments and the very start of Ameritron. Almost all of the Ameritron equipment and several dozens of other products sold under other names are mine.
In retirement years I now have CTR Engineering!
