Incredible tripod, and excellent value for money.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I was sceptical at first, as the average price of this tripod is low, which when compared to the price of leading Tripod brands leaves you thinking that it surely cannot be up to much. But, once unwrapped and holding it before me I had a good inspection and it has a good weight behind it, but not too much to be cumbersome. The legs are solid, and although wobbly at its' longest extension the central column hook allows you to add a counterweight to prevent unwanted camera shake.
The ball head is strong and definitely reliable. It's rated at being able to sustain a 5kg load, so my Nikon D200/Sigma 20mm combination didn't even test it. I will try again with battery grip and flash to see if the added weight does anything, but I seriously doubt it. The quick release plate has an interesting safety-locking mechanism once you place the camera on to the tripod. A screw lock keeps the plate in place, and when loosened you still need to disengage a small lock, preventing the camera falling off should the screw lock become loose.
The central column can be removed, allowing you to invert the tripod you take low down macro shots or just for an interesting perspective. However you can also increase the angle of the legs so that it can be positioned upside down, as well as various locking positions along the way.
The leg section clamps felt a little cheap to begin with, made from plastic along with the brace clamps themselves, but once closed the "handle" itself folds away into the brace so there's not really any pieces sticking out waiting to get caught on anything. I don't really see it as a con, as I haven't had the tripod long enough to see how they hold up, but my friend who also owns one (5 months+) has had no problems with his.
Packaged with a small carry case and allen-key for any adjustments you ever need to make, it's definitely value for money, and without a doubt rivals some of the well known brands for a fraction of the price.
