Like son, like father- even I like this one
0 von 1 finden das hilfreich My 13 year old son wanted this system- so much so that he made it and seven games/accessories for it the top items on his Christmas list, figuring he'd have to get the Wii, otherwise he'd get almost nothing. After making him hunt for it on Christmas morning via a trivia scavenger hunt, it took him all of about 15 minutes to get the system up and running. He really loves it, and it gets him off the chair/floor to play the sports games which he enjoys. Not only that, but with a bit of ingenuity (and a few trips to get everything needed), he can play this in the car on our portable DVD player.
The graphics are good- traditional arcade style would be the phrase I would use. If you want realism, you won't find it here- and that is what sets this system apart from Playstations and Xboxes. You *know* you are playing a game, sort of like watching a Saturday morning cartoon from the 60's. You can watch bad (but not too bad) things happen to characters, but you know they will bounce back because they are just that- characters. Not some realistic rendering of a person suffering bodily harm. And that is what makes this system fun- for him, for me, and even my wife.
Even for an old guy like me . I tried some of the sports games, and they are FUN TO PLAY! Sure, you have a goal (hit a homer, bowl a strike, etc.) but those are fun activities, not trying to simulate life-or-death battles-to-the-end fights. Being a parent, I prefer games that fun, don't take themselves too seriously, or (if they are a fighting game) like Zelda where skill is important but the realism isn't really real. The fact that you can download "classic" Nintendo games like Super Mario Bros. helps cross generations, as I can give him (the few) tips I remember from playing that nearly 20 year old game.
Summary- for your young teen/preteen, this is a winning system. For us middle-age guys for whom Pong was a new phenomena, this is ALSO a winning system. Let's hope Nintendo keeps on bringing out products like this that are fun for the whole family.
